Using Check Box To Select File On Windows Vista

This could be easier than holding CTRL key and selecting the files or selecting first file and hold down SHIFT key then select last one or holding your left hand mouse then move it to highlight the file(s) you want to select.

Now you can also use check box(es) to select file(s) on Explorer Windows even on desktop.

To do this open an explorer windows and press on ALT key from your keyboard to show the Menu bar.

From the menu click Tools then Folder Options

Note: you can also open the folder options by going to Control panel (classic view) and double click the Folder options

From the Folder Options Click the View tab

From View scroll down and check the box on "Use Check Boxes To Select Item" and click OK

Now you can use check boxes to select files on Windows vista.

Hints:

You can click on the check box next to Name on opened folder to select all the file in it.

on Desktop you cannot select multiple files by just clicking on check boxes one by one without holding the CTRL key.
