1. Setting Default Programs

You can set a program to be a default program to open or run all the files that it can run or open.

To do this, Go to control Panel(classic View) and double click the Default Programs

From the Default programs window click on the type programs you wish to change.

From there you'll be able to set the default programs.


2. Ending A Program That Is Not Responding

If a program is not responding and wont let you close it, You can actually end it by going to the Task manager.

You can go to the Task Manager by right click on the taskbar and select Task Manager or press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC button on your keyboard or type "taskmgr" on the Run Dialog Box to open the task manager.

From the Task manager click the program you want to end (under Applications) and click the End Task button below.


3. Changing Your Computer's Name

If at any point you wish to change your computer's name you can do that by going to Control Panel and double click the System icon.

On the "computer name, domain, and workgroup settings" click Change Settings click continue or provide an administration password to continue

Click the change button (that should be under computer name tab) Type a new name for your computer under the Computer name: and click ok, restart your system to apply the new change.


4. Default boot operating system and time

If you have more than one operating system installed on your computer....You can choose a default boot operating system and type to show the list of operating systems installed on your computer during boot.

Go to control panel then system ....Click on Advances system settings at the left corner provide an administration password or click continue to continue.

Click the Settings button under startup and recovery

Under system startup choose your default operating system and input The time to display list of operating systems: and click ok


5. Finding answer right from your windows vista
