5/29/2008 | putersandnet.com

If you don't like your folder(s) icon or just bored and want to try something new.

You can download icons online or use one of the icons that came with windows to replace your folders icon.

folder icon

Right click on the folder and select properties then click on customize tab.

folder properties

Click the Change icon button and select a desired icon and click ok.

You can use another windows icon by clicking on browse and go to Computer>>>> Local Disk (c:) where C: is your hard drive for windows vista.

local disk

When you open the Local disk click double click the Windows folder>>>>>System32 then look for a file named imageres.dll and click open to see the beautiful icons to select from.

The easy and simple way to open the imageres.dll location is to just paste this \Windows\System32\imageres.dll or C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll or %SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll instead of browsing
