Part 2 of How To Change Image Background Using Paint.NET (the easy way)

 12/26/2009 | by Casmir

This is the Part 2 (the easy way) of  How To Change Image Background Using Paint.NET, Click the link to find out more about Paint.NET if you haven't heard of it before you continuing or visit the Paint.NET page.
I recommend you install this Plug-ins as well,  just as i said in my previous article (part 1)

As you have Paint.NET and the Plug-ins installed on your computer, it's time to get to our business..

Hopefully, You have both the original image and the background image you'll be replacing the background of the original image with in place...right?
As for me, I have resized the background image to the same size as the original image to suit my need.

1. Open the background image with Paint.NET (That's the background you want to replace the original image background with)
background

2. Go to Layers>>>>Import From File and browse for the original image (The image you want the background to be replaced with the opened background) and open it.
When you open the image, It will cover the already opened background!

3. You can use either the Line, Lasso or even the Magic Wand tool to draw line around the edges of the image and then, press CTRL+I to Invert The Selection and then press Delete. But i will be using only the Eraser tool on this one, not Line, lasso, Magic Wand tool. The Magic wand is easier in removing the background though, but might be difficult with some image.

So, as you have added a new layer with the original image...
Click on the Eraser tool and start erasing the background to bring up the new on behind it, Increase or decrease the width of the eraser to suit your need.
Erasing with paint.net
Zoom the image as much as you can see the edges clearly to erase the remaining unwanted background, do you best in erasing out all the unwanted background.

4.Use the Feather Effect to smooth the edges of your image....Now you are good to go!

5. Now, Flatten and save your image.
Voila!
Voila! Thanks to paint.NET

I captured this image with my digital camera in South Korea...
